The Beatriz Segall Room - Psicadeiro receives two pianists on the night of October 3, Wednesday at 7 pm THE PIANO CONCERT - BEYOND TRUST, a unique and special event.
BEYOND TRUST is a concert on a shared stage for solo piano, with Brazilian pianist-songwriter Luciana Hamond and American pianist-songwriter Matthew Mayer.
The two artists alternate on a single piano, creating a musical dialogue that transits between cinematic lyricism, neoclassical atmosphere and an intimate narrative.
The title of the concert brings together two key works - "Beyond" (Mayer) and "Trust" (Hamond) - as symbols of the central themes of the night: going beyond the limits and learning to trust one's own voice.
Matthew Mayer composed "Beyond" more than 20 years ago, when he lived alone in Hollywood, after moving there from a small town. The piece reflects this moment of entering the unknown and overcoming what seems possible - going beyond one's own limits.
Luciana Hamond's "Trust", marks a turning point in her creative trajectory: a reconnection with her essence as a composer and one of the first times she shared her music publicly. What begins as vulnerability turns into force - shaped by listening and the return of the public.
Together, BEYOND TRUST invites the audience to a space where personal stories become sound, and where courage, transformation and connection are revealed through the piano - one piece at a time.
Luciana Hamond is a neoclassical pianist and composer. Since 2023 he has already released several singles, piano covers and solo piano albums on digital platforms. The Piano Inspirations Album was nominated as the best classical music album on the solopiano platform. Coordinates the extension project entitled Neoclassical Piano Festival.
Matthew Mayer is a pianist, composer and artist on an international tour, known for emotionally intense solo piano performances, which connect deeply with audiences from different cultures. Mayer is the owner of SoloPiano.com, where he offers free artist pages for piano artists around the world. It reached the 1st place in the Billboard charts, has more than 500 million streams in the world.
